The mission of Beyond the Book is to inspire reading and community connection on Florida's Gulf Coast through engaging events and programming focused on a single book.
Asolo Repertory Theatre – in cooperation with several local organizations, agencies, libraries and bookstores – invites you to participate in the second chapter of Beyond the Book. The project starts with the premise:
What would happen if everyone in the community read the same book?
After reading the novel, participants can learn more about its themes, author and cultural context by attending book-inspired events throughout the community -- book discussions, theatrical performances at Asolo Rep, museum tours, cooking classes, special lectures and film screenings, to name a few. The possibilities are endless.
