Access to the ArtsACCESS TO THE ARTS – Student Matinee Series

Each year, Access to the Arts brings thousands of well-prepared students and teachers to Asolo Rep to see special student matinee performances of our mainstage season. The purpose of the program is to foster a love of theatre in students from the entire Southwest Florida region. We select the plays from our season that support the work you are doing in the classroom and provide a comprehensive program to tie your field trip directly to your curriculum. In addition to the play, the program includes professional development teacher workshops, in-school visits by our theatre artists, and an exciting post-show discussion with the cast.

CAMP ASOLO REP

Camp Asolo Rep explores the process of creating a character through acting, voice and movement. Professional teaching artists lead students through exercises aimed at cultivating the tools an actor uses throughout the rehearsal process. Our young actors work extensively as an ensemble, creating a supportive environment where each and every person feels free to express themselves creatively.

The mornings are spent in classes on voice, movement and acting while the afternoons are spent rehearsing a piece to be performed at the end of the session. The performance will be made up of scenes, monologues and poetry as well material composed by the students themselves.

Register today for summertime fun! Explore the process of creating a character through acting, voice and movement.
Download a registration form or call 941-351-9010 ext. 3306.
