200 ASOLO ANGELS CELEBRATE HALO DAY

Sarasota, Florida - Nearly 200 Asolo Theatre Festival Angels attended this year's ninth annual Halo Day luncheon at Michael's on East recently. Guests enjoyed a fashion show presented by Designing Women Boutique, and they heard longtime actor Bradford Wallace and his wife Marian, the theatre's veteran production stage manager, reminisce about their early days. The luncheon also celebrated the memory of the lives of two special angels, Ross deMatteo and Virginia Sypula.

Bradford Wallace, in his talk, recalled playing a mute clown in a 1961 Italian comedy/opera and read a Herald- Tribune review noting of all the clowns in the show, he was the most impressive even though he had nothing to say.

Producing artistic director Howard Millman presented awards to "Negotiating Angels" Nancy Markle and Don Schoenbaum, who worked long and hard on the agreement between the Asolo and FloridaStateUniversity; to "Presidential Angel" Michael Hartenstine, current president of the Asolo Board; and to "Ascending Angels" Terry and Susan Romine, new members of the Asolo Angel Council.

The Asolo Angel Association proudly supports the Asolo's artistic and educational programs throughout the year. For more information about this service organization, or to become a member, please contact Clare Ward-Jenkins at 941-351-9010 Ext 4707.
