NEW DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

Sarasota, Florida (July 11, 2005) – The Asolo Theatre Company is pleased to announce the selection of Deborah Ann Trimble as its new development director. Formerly with the Olmsted Parks Conservancy in Buffalo, New York, she joins the Asolo team effective today.

Trimble’s primary responsibility is to oversee development efforts and meet fundraising goals for the Asolo Theatre Festival. As such, Trimble will provide leadership and management of fundraising activities, while developing and implementing a comprehensive development plan to include campaign activity, gifts-in-kind, Conservatory scholarships, endowments, grants, and major and planned gifts. Trimble will focus her attention on the individual donor but will also reinforce relationships with community organizations, corporations and foundations.

According to Linda DiGabriele, the Asolo’s managing director, “Deborah has a tremendous track record in development and a great love of the arts. I believe she will become a significant asset to the Asolo and to the local arts community. We are very pleased to welcome her to Sarasota.”

Trimble holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.A. in Journalism from Buffalo State College, Buffalo, New York. Accolades include being named to Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals in 2002, and the Business First Community Leader 40 Under Forty Award in 2000. During her tenure with the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Trimble’s accomplishments include increasing the annual budget from $140,000 to more than $3 million; and bringing together the diverse communities and elected officials to endorse the Conservancy’s management and operations takeover of the park system, covering 75 percent of the city’s parkland.  Trimble’s arts organization credits include Pick of the Crop Dance Company, Silent Partners/Festival Destinations, and Shea’s Buffalo Theatre – a three thousand seat, 1926 theatre in the heart of Buffalo’s theatre district that presents an annual Broadway show series.
