Town Hall kicks off 48th season of professional theatre on Tuesday, October 10 at 4 pm
Sarasota, FL (September 13, 2006) – Asolo Repertory Theatre will hold its annual Town Hall event for the 2006-2007 season on Tuesday, October 10 at 4:00 p.m. In the Mertz Theatre at 5555 north Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The fun filled event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. A reception will follow in the lobby.
Town Hall offers a candid first opportunity to meet the actors of Asolo Rep’s upcoming season and learn about their roles in each play. Michael Donald Edwards, producing director for Asolo Rep, will introduce the cast of resident and guest professional actors, the student company and community players; and each will in turn disclose for the first time the roles which they will play. Greg Leaming, director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training as well as Asolo Rep’s associate artistic director, will also introduce the second-year students who perform in the Conservatory’s productions.
Says Michael Donald Edwards, "Fasten your seat belts ladies and gentlemen and get ready for a thrilling ride into our 48th season. This season will see a variety of new faces – both onstage and off – and new experiences. It is my hope that whether you are a longtime subscriber or a new patron you will join us this season and into the future with open minds and hearts, and a taste for adventure. Let’s see where this path leads together!"
Asolo Rep will mount seven productions in rotating repertory in the Mertz Theatre, one in the Cook, and one in the newly opened Ringling’s Historic Asolo Theater.
