Sarasota, FL (NOVEMBER 06, 2007) –Asolo Repertory Theatre the premier theatre of Florida will hold its annual Town Hall event for the 2007-2008 season on Tuesday, NOVEMBER 13TH AT 5:00 PM in the Mertz Theatre at 5555 north Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The fun filled event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. A reception will follow in the lobby.
Town Hall offers a candid first opportunity to meet the actors of Asolo Rep’s upcoming season and learn about their roles in each play. Greg Leaming, director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, will also introduce the second-year students who perform in the Conservatory’s productions.
Says Michael Donald Edwards, " Last season was about our evolution; this season, the revolution is coming, and not just in Jill Santoriello’s brilliant new Broadway-bound musical adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities! Our rep season encompasses eleven invigorating productions featuring extraordinary work by a superbly talented group of over 150 actors, directors, designers, and production staff, hailing from both local and national artistic communities. It’s a season of big ideas and vital passions, disturbing insights and moving realizations, delightful comedy and the joy of entertainment. There is something for everyone."
In addition to its early shows, Misery (Oct 30 – Dec 9)and A Tale of Two Cities (Oct 13 - Nov 18), Asolo Rep will mount a full season of seven plays in rotating repertory in the Mertz Theatre, one in the Cook, and one in the Ringling’s Historic Asolo Theater.
