2004-2005 ASOLO BOARD ANNOUNCED
 

SARASOTA, FL (Monday, July 26, 2004) - The Asolo Theatre Company announces new members and officers elected to govern the Asolo’s board of directors during the 2004-2005 season.

The Asolo’s newly elected board officers are Michael Hartenstine, president; Nancy Markle and Simon Portnoy, vice presidents; Alan Kurland, vice president and treasurer, and Anne Garlington, secretary.

New additions to the board this year are Margo Bindhardt, Joan Kayser, Craig Lance, Joan G. Macaluso, Alfred Rose, and Carol Siegler. Margot Bindhardt is the current chair of the Florida Arts Council. Ms. Bindhardt actively supports many arts organizations, is President Emeritus of the Toronto Arts Council (TAC) and in partnership with TAC sponsors The Margo Bindhardt Award, a biannual grant for Toronto artists. Joan Kayser is an attorney and Senior Vice President, Florida Trust Manager, and Trust Banker for The Harris Bank N.A. Her community involvement includes serving on the boards of Community Foundation of Sarasota, FamilyCounselingCenter, and as a section chair with the Florida Bar Association. Craig Lance is Managing Director of MetLife Financial Services in Naples, Florida and an active supporter of the Kaleidoscope program. Joan Macaluso served as Corporate Secretary at United States Surgical Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company, until 1989 when she retired and moved to Florida. She has been on the boards of the Asolo Theatre Guild and the Longboat Key Tennis Association. Alfred Rose, who is retired from the property management industry, has been a longtime board member of Wellness Community and is currently on the board of directors of the residences at the Ritz. Carol Siegler is a dedicated community volunteer involved in human rights advocacy and is an ad Litem volunteer with the court system. 

Returning board members are Arch Bishop, Susan Buck, James Chandler, Arland Christ-Janer, Trent Cole, Warren Coville, Linda Dickinson, Annie Esforme, Cary Findlay, Gale Fulton-Ross, Ron Greenbaum, Alan Griffes, Len Gumley, Anne Howard, Stanley Kane, Lewis Kearns, Joan Kiernan, Beverly Koski, Cheryl Loeffler, Nancy Markle, Joan Mendell , Norman Menell, Tom Nunan, Robert Peterson, Howard Phillips, Claudia Porter, Simon Portnoy, Flori Roberts, Barbara Rothstein, Keily Salser, Nancy Schlossberg, Don Schoenbaum, Harris Silver, Valerie Terris, Steven Wallace, John Welch, T.K. Wetherell, Norman Winston and Margaret Wise. 

The Asolo Theatre Company’s 2004-2005 season will commence on November 19, 2004 with the classic adventure, Peter Pan, and continues with Sherlock Holmes & The West End Horror, Broadway Bound, The Smell of the Kill, The Front Page, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Mitch Albom’s Tuesday’s with Morrie. Also on the schedule is a special musical theatre production planned for May 14-June 12, 2005.
